I use to be a size 5-9 depending on the pants. I am now 29 weeks pregnant and everywhere i go everyone tells me i am so small. i went to the doc at 28 weeks and i was told i measured 27cm which the doc said was fine so i was like ok. but see i keep getting compared to other pregnant woman and sometimes i feel like they are measuring my belly as a sign of health in my pregnancy or as a competiton. Before i got pregnant i ran, swam, and lifted wights. i weighed about 125lbs. i have 22lbs so far but it seems to not be enough to have that big love bump. on friday we went out to eat and a family friend who is also 7 months was huge, she is also very petite bodied but her tummy was huge. My bf sometimes ask if i am carrying my baby in my butt because that is the only thing that seems to be growing. but when ever people ask how far along i am and i say 7 months they say, really where is your baby at? Anybody went to through this? or just some experiences?

I do have a tummy but its just not big. My bf friend (female) came over on the weekend and as soon as she saw me she said oh you are tiny, then she soon said good stay that way. (she has a 5 year old daughter) that made me feel so nice because finally i felt someone who wasnt measuring the size of my belly.

I want to give you a big hug.
I am 36 weeks pregnant, and I started out very petite. I have gained the appropriate amount of weight but my tummy is small. People kept commenting on how small I was, and I became concerned for my baby's health. I spoke to my doctor about it. He said the size of my stomach was exactly where it should be. He reminded me he measures my belly at every appointment and if there was a problem he would let me know and we would deal with it. He also explained the size of the belly has a lot to do with how the baby is resting. He also said he would order a second ultrasound just so we could check the size of the baby. Well I had the second ultrasound, and the doctor has now estimated that the baby will be between 6.5 and 7 pounds when I deliver. This is a fine delivery weight. Every time someone tells me how small I am, I just remember my doctor tells me everything is fine. I have gained the right amount of weight, and the baby is fine.
I know people think it is nice to say how small you are, and they never think it will cause you concern. So now I just smile, and remember my doctor knows best.
Good luck.

Every women's body is different. It could also depend on how many children a women has already. I am a very petite woman. With my first 2 pregnancies I didn't start showing until I was about 6 months pregnant. But with my last pregnancy, I was already showing at 2 months. And by 5 months, people look at me and think I'm having twins, or people that don't know me think I'm already due to have the baby. If the doctor doesn't have any concerns about your size, then don't worry, everything is fine.

After 20 weeks gestation [ week of pregnancy ], your fundal height [ how far top of uterus is, in centimeters above pubic bone ] should be the same as your week. Plus or minus one week is perfectly normal.
Don't worry about how big your tummy is, it doesn't really correlate to how big baby is. It just means you are not gaining a lot of weight. [ recommend 25 to 30 pounds; but anything over 25 usually sticks to your behind! ]
My first baby did not look big in my uterus, but weighed 9-1 and 1/2! Second looked tiny, and weighed 7-5! I am only 5'4", and started at 110 pounds, but apparently my pelvis is pretty roomy.
Keep doing what exercise you can, and you will get back in shape faster than all your fellow preg - os.

That sounds exactly like what i'm going through right now, I am also 29 weeks and ur body type sounds like mine. Everyone tells me that i am really small and that i dont even look 7 mths they tell me i look 5 mths and i worry too but if your dr. says everything is ok then dont worry just trust ur dr. because at last they're the ones that really know. I have a belly too but just not as much as my 2 cousins who are only a week or two ahead of me and they are also first time moms like me. I've gained 22 lbs up to now too and it seems like my butt is also the only place thats got bigger. Dont worry too much though everything should be fine. good luck with everything. = )

Yep, I'm going through it now! I'm 34 weeks and tiny. I get so tired of people and their comments! It makes me feel like something is wrong with my baby, but I know he's fine. I was small with my 3 year old too. It's all good, we'll just be the ones to look like MILF's alot sooner than the rest!!!

Do not worry about what other people have to say. I'm just like you fiancee mother said to me it looks like most of my weight is in my hips and butt.
My God-sister friend she seven mos and everyone keeps telling me how big she is and trying to make me feel bad b/c I'm not as big as her.
I love my love bump to me it really does not matter I'm not as big as her. I'm 26 weeks and I'm measuring 25 cm my doctor said I'm fine.
