Because the idiot Republicans think the flag is something more sacred than human life.
They worry more about the flag being burned than someone being shot in the streets.
Look at all the grief they gave Barack Obama for not wearing an American Flag lapel pin.
These people are so stupid, that they would rather judge someone by what is on his jacket, rather than what is in his heart.
That is why I refuse to listen to anything a Neocon has to say, because their evil thoughts are very offensive to me.

Free enterprise. Some products, especially simple to manufacture items such as you describe, cannot be manufactured cheaply in America. Our standard of living is much too high and labor much too expensive. The only way is use automated processes (which do not employ many people) or outsource.
The Stars and Stripes represent the same thing regardless of where the flag was manufactured even if it is drawn on a cocktail napkin.
This reminds me of a small news item a few years ago. At a large assembly, someone forgot to bring the flag along for the Pledge of Allegiance. The speaker asked if anyone had a flag with them that they could use. After some searching, one woman seated on the dais produced a simple postage stamp that had the flag image on it.
The entire assembly rose, saluted and pledged their allegiance to a tiny American flag only one inch tall. In a way, it shows the power of the patriotism of most Americans. We honor Old Glory for what it represents.

They pledge Allegiance to China in every other way. They gave this particular Communist Country of 1.6 billion people Most Favored Nation Trading Partner status. They never refer to them as Red Chinese anymore. They ignore their lack of civil liberties. They ignore their astronomical Abortion rate. They Ignore their slave prisoner labor. They oppress any descent and maintain total control of the media and communications.
Americans pledge Allegiance to China because they sell us
cheap toys.
Of course we've been told that the People suffering in Cuba deserve to be demonized because they have a communist government.

Most people have a very simple-minded concept of patriotism. To them, the flag is easier to relate to than the Constitution because the formal language of the Constitution is over their heads. Like the ignorant President Bush, they think of the Constitution as "just a piece of paper." Consequently, they don't understand that imprisoning someone for burning a flag would be the most unconstitutional travesty of justice imaginable. They recognize that the flag is a symbol of freedom, but they'd gladly abandon their freedom to protect the flag. That isn't patriotism; it's idolatry.

We can than NAFTA for that. You can't buy hardly anything without it having a made in China logo. Ironic, how we trade with a nation that basically wants to wipe us off the map, and is one of the most repressive nations on the planet. Makes me sick when I go to Home Depot and all I see is "made in China". If we are willing to get paid pennies on the dollar for making a product and having "national healthcare" from the government (hillary clinton comes to mind), then we might be able to keep up.Just think...getting paid pennies on the dollar and trusting government for your healthcare is the only way they will be able to afford it.
steven c: who's gonna look stupid when you're getting paid pennies on the dollar to afford your healthcare?
here's something offensive: typical cut & run, chicken S***, liberal communist sympathizer :)

Many Americans aren't patriotic enough to pay a little more and support their fellow Americans who make flags. A sad commentary on "patriotism".
Here's a link to American made flags:

I sell American flags, they are all 100% made in the US (New Jersey to be exact...). So even though the majority of people don't really care, there are still people who are willing to spend a little extra to have their flag made in America.

It seems pretty patriotic to refuse to buy US flags made in China. Really, at least our flags should be US made.
