Nerium Oleander - Heavenly fragrance, beautiful flowers all year round (in the tropics), easy to grow, flowers copiously within a year, free from insects, grazing animals do not come near, does not need fertilising. What more could one ask for.

Hands down, Gardenia. It's classic like the rose in beauty, but it's fragarance is not rivaled by the rose what so ever.

No, because beauty is in the eye of the beholder if 50 people answer your question you'll have 50 different answers. God was smarter than all of us that is why he made so many flowers with so many smells in order to please all of us.
He did however please me with the gardenia and it smell.

As much as I hate them..I'd nominate the Rose. I'm not superficial, but they are damn good looking flowers and some even smell out of this world.
