Can anyone tell me any ideas for a couple of meals on a Saturday day trip to Chicago? Just want some place in the downtown (loop) area that we could get a good bite to eat for lunch and late afternoon. A lot of the places I've been looking at are closed on Saturday???

Try Millers Pub at Adams and Wabash. It is the quintessenial Chicago pub that has been around practically forever. It has a bar area and a sit down dining area and is filled with Chicago photos and memorabelia. Not the fanciest place in the loop, but the most "Chicago" place. It is usually crowded during the week but should be open and less crowded on Saturday. I belive they close at 4 p.m.

If you want casual and fun Ed Debevics is good too. Kind of a fifties diner theme. On the corner of Lasalle and Ontario I think.

Head over to Chinatown, or even Taylor Street (Al's Italian Beef, and Patio)

I'm going to go with the above poster...
If you want chinese food go to Chinatown on 22nd and Wentworth, if your in the mood for Italian go to Taylor street
on Taylor and Racine, or if you want Greek food go to Greektown on Halsted and Jackson.
