The first one is definitely correct. The second doesn't make a full sentence without 'a' before 'little'. I think you were thinking of a sentence like "She gave little attention ..." or "she gave little regard ...." but that is a different type of sentence and a different context.

I think it's a trick. The two sentences can be joined together in one.

"She was a bit so satisfied that she gave a little laugh."

or "She was a bit so satisfied, she gave a little laugh."

Never "gave little laugh" which is incorrect.
