I have been goping through a difficult time so I am looking for suggestions about making me happy so the family can heal. I heard this expression over the weekend and I am taking suggestions about making me happy again, please write em no matter how silly. I think the mere ideas of happiness can help....... Thanks so much I promise I am working on not feeling sorry for myself today, well its pencilled in for this afternoon. Thanks again all!

there are so many problems here, my daughters dad walked out on us a few weeks ago. He found himself a girlfriend and left. The second anniversary of my sons death was October 25, my father died a year ago yesterday 10/28. My daughters dad wasn't a great provider to begin with, he didnt work until the beginning of OCtober this year, blamed me for everything and drank too much way too much. He hated my 2 sons from a first marriage, now he wants to pick up our daughter to spend weekends with her and he tells me if I file custody papers I will regret it terribly. He says I'm going to jail if I file papers, I dont know what for except I used his credit card to buy food once or twice, with his permission only. O yea and the fact that I am unemployed, my form closed our division back in August and I'm about to run out of unemployment benefits soon.... Enough background?

You can mask the fact that you're miserable by taking our suggestions, but it won't eliminate the problem. What's the root cause of your unhappiness?

The best way to make yourself happy is to make a list of all the good things that you have. You have your children, for example, - one woman wrote in here about the fact that she has congestive heart failure and can have no children - and you have your health.
Try to do something that will make you laugh and that helps with happiness - rent a comedy and watch it, buy a cupcake and put a candle on it for a birthday cake, if it is warm enough go in the back yard and have a water balloon fight with the kids, or even put Humor in your search engine and find something to laugh about.
As far as the husband and the daughter, go to legal aid and talk to someone there and you may get some good news there which will make you happy - that you can not only keep him from taking your daughter but that you can get support from him if he hasn't been paying that.
Write out a resume of our job qualifications and have that ready to check for a new job and then start looking.
Just get out of the house, whether with your children or some friends and do something different and that may make you happy as well. Remember when you are down the only way to go is up!! Good luck to you and I hope and pray things work out in the near future!!

I am sorry, but I became quite annoyed after reading this one.... I refuse to be around people who feel sorry for themselves. I have been through many difficult times and many great times as well. Only you can control the outcomes in your life - quit acting so helpless. Please don't drag your family down, there are times when you have to find all the strength to pull yourself together and show the family how grateful you should be to have eachother... quit dwelling on the unchangeables. What's done is done, at the very least you have the power to change the way you view things.

Sorry to hear about your losses, they are terrible, and unfortunately experienced by many if not all... You need to make some life changing decisions now, this will also get your mind off everything else. Why not do up a resume and start job hunting now? Or look into going back to school.... I am sure you can find funding somewhere... Make some life changes that will make you feel better about being who you are, and you can also be a better provider to your family.

as the saying goes.......IF MOMMA IS NOT HAPPY, THEN NOONE IS HAPPY!!!......go out & do something for yourself, it's ok to do so. other than that.....Reach out for the Lord..He will take away all your worries and He will put happiness back in your heart.........GOD BLESS
