I got pulled over the other night, and the police told me I had a warrant for my arrest, because I failed to take the required classes for the DUI. My gf ended up paying my bond. Anyways I have a court case in a month regarding that matter. I just registered for the classes. What will happen for failing to take those classes?!?!?! Will I get a fine? and how much? Again, I just registered for the classes to help my case? should I get a lawyer, I was negligent because of everythign that was going on my life, I know that is an excuse, but what can I do now is what am I asking?!?!?!

First of all, sorry you are in this situation. You definitely should get a lawyer.

A lot depends on what your original outcome from the DUI was--it sounds like the sentence included classes and you failed to comply. I think that could even get you some jail time. This is why you need a lawyer.

Good luck. For more info, definitely check out http:\www.totaldui.com. They have the most comprehensive DUI information on the Internet and there is even an attorney referral source on the site.

Again, good luck.

The only thing you can do to help your case:
1. Have an attorney represent you in court
2. Get your DUI classes out of the way ASAP - and I mean ASAP.

Did you 'just register' before or after the arrest? Either way, when you go to court, show them proof that you have enrolled and maybe they'll go light on you.
