Now that we have made it to 10 months with ours, I can easily anser this questions by saying this. When you think you have enough of everything...you're wrong.
Just stock up. You still have time, so when you see things on sale, pick them up. ANd don't limit yourself to just 0-3 months. They grow out of that so fast you won't know what happened. If you see a big sale on #2 or #3 diapers...go for it. They WILL get used.
So as far sa when you should buy these things. When you see a good price, buy them. They will be worn eventually, and you will thank yourself for buying this stuff early.

I have gotten about 10 onesies in 0-3 months and a couple outfits in that size. I got more in the 3-6 month range because the baby could be born larger and grow out of the 0-3 month in a matter of weeks. I also bought stuff in the 6-9 month range. I figure this way no matter how fast she grows, I will be ready with a few things until I can get more.

I wouldn't buy a whole lot. I got my son so many clothes and he never wore alot of them. I just packed them away for the next baby to come along. I would just recommend getting the little comfortable play suits mostly in 0-3 months b/c you'll be spending alot of time at home and wont be going out very much..you could buy 4 or 5 cute outfits for going places. As far as 3 - 6 months. I'd go ahead and start buying alot of those, he will stay in that size alot longer. Congrats and good luck.

My son lived in onesies his first 3 months, of course it was June, July, and August so the short sleeved were perfect. It's so hard to put them in fancy outfits, etc. when they are so young. I had at least 15-20 onsies because they can go through a couple a day easily at first. I don't think he wore anything but onsies 99% of the time and for bed they work great as well so you can change their diaper without disturbing them. For my showers I was given sooo many clothes from newborn to age 2 and many of the newborn to three months just got packed away with their tags still on them!!! My son started wearing pants, jeans, sweatshirts, pj's, etc. around his 4th month but we still use long sleeve onsies for spending the day at home or going to daycare. It's just so practical and easy and that's the key in the beginning, not fashion. You'll find this out VERY quickly in the beginning!

When I brought my daughter home, I had tons of 0-3 outfits and onsies. All of them were too BIG for about 3 weeks. Once she finally got into them, she stayed in them for about 4 months. With the 3-6 month, she stayed in those for what seemed forever. She's now almost 2 (in early Jan) and is still in 6-9 month onsies and 9-12 month pants, but 18 month in the one piece outfits. The 18 month outfits swallow her around the chest/waist area, but are the only ones that are long enough.
Suggestion is to get 2 piece outfits that you can mix and match. You will get more wear out of them and when your son grows "unevenly" on the top and thru the legs, you don't have to worry about outfits being too short or long on his legs.
Congrats and good luck

I wouldn't buy too much of the 0-3 mos. You can start buying the 3-6 mos now. Also, just a tip. At the end of each season, I buy the marked down stuff for whatever size my children will be in next time that season rolls around. It's a good way to save some cash. Especially knowing they frow out of stuff so fast.

I bought all sizes before my son was born. You cant go wrong with onsies. Even if its cold out you can put the short sleeve ones under another shirt.
Just buy 3-6 months for the correct season. If you had your baby in feb three months would be may. So buy spring time clothes in 3-6 months.

i might possibly basically purchase the fundamentals and then be affected person after your infant comes. My daughter became 8lbs a million oz..and 21 inches. She spent possibly some weeks in new child clothing and then became directly to 0-3 month issues. At 6 mos we've been in 6 mos sizes. although, my acquaintances infant became basically 7lbs at beginning and at 6 mos previous became already in 12mos clothing. All infants boost in yet in any different case and different clothing manufacturers extra healthful different too. i might possibly merely get some new child pajamas or nighties and doubtless an outfit or 2 in case you intend on going out or having visitors plenty. possibly surely have some 0-3 month clothing and pajamas reachable for while she strikes up a length. remember too that infants will spit up and blow out diapers. some days we replaced my daughter clothing 4 situations, different situations she wore the comparable outfit 2 days in a row! you will get away with procuring fewer clothing in case you're keen to do laundry extra in lots of situations! :)
