I'm 34 weeks pregnant and I've been having "braxton hicks" contractions for weeks now. Last night they kept me up all night long. I was trying to sleep so I didn’t keep track of them but it seem like they where all the time and they hurt. Now morning time I’m still having some and its hard to sit while urinating there was lots of pressure down there. I'm just wondering if anyone has had their labor begin this way, or if it's still braxton hicks or what. I've always heard that braxton hicks come and go, they don't carry on every few minutes. And I've also heard that they are painless until your water actually breaks. They're defiantly contractions because my stomach tightens up and it feels like she's balling up to the surface of my belly inside. Has anyone had their labor begin this way? If so, what’s your experience?

Braxton hicks are not painless. They generally arent painful, but it doesnt mean they cant be.

I paced my bedroom floor for HOURS for WEEKS at night from contractions. They stopped for a few hours, then started again and went on for a couple hours, and so on. But they always subsided.

Me personally, my braxton hicks were just like labor. They started for me around 4.5 months and lasted clear through. So long as they stop you're alright. If they are very intense and just keep getting more intense and not subsiding its time to get to the hospital.

You may need to take it slower during the day. If you're doing too much, or not drinking enough water it'll cause them. If you're concerned you should CERTAINLY see your doctor and have your cervix checked.

Its pretty normal to have pressure and pulling and discomfort when sitting on the toilet. It opens your pelvis and allows for the baby and uterus to really move down and in.

Drink a large glass of water. If that and/or changing activity levels does not stop them-which it sounds liek it hasn;t-then it very well may be actual labor. With my first I had quite real labor for 3 days that was painless-she had her ehad in my hip. With mys econd, I had so little discomfort I was 7 cm before I was SURE it was labor and that was only because the doctor checked me. It never really DID hurt badly that time. Am praying this tiem is just as easy!! It wouldn;t hurt to go ahead adn either call your OB or call L&D and get checked. At 34 weeks they would still attempt to stop your labor and give baby a few more weeks.

I'm almost 35 weeks with #3. This past week, I've been experiencing a lot more BH contractions...they've been uncomfortable...I seemed to have gone through a cycle this time when the BH contractions were much more active for about 4-5 days...now they've quieted down to being less frequent.

LMAO that contractions don't hurt until the water breaks...no. Contractions can gain intensity after the water breaks, but real contractions hurt - a lot - well before the water breaks. My water had to be broken at 8 cm after 18 hours of back labour with my first, and my water didn't break until one of the final pushes with my second.

Yep - you're normal. BH contractions usually don't hurt, but some women do notice a lot of discomfort with them.

You need to see your doctor. Braxton Hicks aren't supposed to hurt. I learned that through personal experience. I thought mine were BH but they were true contractions. I was put on bed rest for 2 weeks. Call your doctor.

the pressure sounds like the babys head is engaged so its nested there till you give birth , contractions hurt even before your water breaks believe me i have had my water broken twice, if they are real contractions they are in a pattern and the pain does not ease of getting a bath etc it feels like period pains to begin with and then get worse and worse if you have lost your show and emptied your bowels in the last 24 hours it probably is labour but go to yor hospital just to be on the safe side good luck
