I agree completely. All of this talk about sportsmanship is ridiculous - the Pats weren't out there hurting anyone, they were just playing amazing football. If you don't want to lose by 45 points, then you need to field a better team.
As a player, I'd also rather have a team keep pounding on us rather than taking it easy....it's more insulting and demeaning when a team takes it easy on you, because it shows just how bad you are when they have to try NOT to score.

I agree with you and I'm a Skins fan. Except I don't think the Skins quit, I just think they got their butts beat.
Crying about running up the score is a joke. This is the NFL, not little league. If you don't like the score, do something to stop them. And I am a Skins fan!
If I am on a team that is getting killed, the most embarrassing thing you can do to me is stop playing hard because you know you've got me beat. Your pity is way more embarrassing than a sound defeat.
And cheating? Please. Every team in the league pushes the limits of the rules to gain an advantage and the Pats got caught in a little insignificant move because cry baby Mangini knew exactly how to catch them, since he was part of the organization in recent past. The Patriots are proving to the world right now that they don't need any extra help to completely destroy every team in the league.
I am a Skins fan and my team took their whoopin with class. The Patriots, like it or not, are likely the best team in history!Period!

No.. After all, Offensive players play to score points. People bring up what if Tom gets hurt .....a bunch of what if's.....that's how it is in life.....life is unpredictable. Too many people bring up scenarios that might not even happen. I just see a lot of Patriots bashing. A lot of holier than thou people pointing the finger at the team. A lot of teams have blown out people and weren't given crap about it like the Colts. This is NFL...this isn't pop warner. If they don't want the Patriots to score, then the defense should play better. Having starters in there is not necessarily bad...especially if they want to stay sharp. Also.....there is such thing as comebacks. Anything could happen in the NFL. Nobody expected a 6th round draft pick to replace Drew Bledsoe and lead the Patriots to win 3 Super Bowls.

If someone is throwing for a touchdown with less than TWO minutes in the game and a huge gap (52-0) then you Might call it running up the score. Instead the Pats gave them 7 points at the end. Scoring is just as important as clock management.
And tell Campbell to hold on to the ball.

The Skins defense should stop them, the Pats had most of their backups in at one time and they still scored, what r they so posed to do? just hand the ball over? or maby a mercy rule like they have in girls sports. All the teams complaining should act and play like men or go change their tampons!

no one is saying that the pats should have "let" the skins score and "catch up"
most people are saying it's unsportsmanlike to run the score up for the sake if doing so.
2 years ago when the colts played the pats, manning was on the 15ish yard or so and could have easily scored with about a 1.5 mins left in the game. He could have EASILY rammed the score down brady's throat, but instead was classy enough to take a knee.
that's the difference.

What do people expect the Pats to do? Lay off just because the other team can't score on them? Please, if I was a 'Skins fan or a Fins fan, that'd be worse. The only way we can score is when the Patriots put their backups in and go easy on us.

Not too sure if theres actually a question to be answered but i agree whole-heartedly.
Giants almost gave their win away by being lazy in the last quarter of the Wembley game.

You want to see running up the score? Wait until Mangenius and the Jets come to town. They'll need triple digits on the scoreboard.
