Saw Trilogy! (including the new 4th one)

Hostel is not a trilogy as only 2 movies exist.
Texas Chainsaw is not a trilogy as their are 3 parts to the original storyline, 1 Next Generation, 1 remake and 1 prequel to the remake.
Halloween was not a trilogy but a series of movies. The original idea behind Halloween was for each sequel to be a different halloween story. This was dismissed after the box office disappointment for the (underrated) Halloween 3: Season Of The Witch.
Saw is also not a trilogy, as their are 4 parts out now. Part 4 got the okay the same day Saw 3 was released, so it was never intended to stop at 3. They do intend to make parts 5 & 6 though, so you could call it a 'double trilogy (in the making). lol!

Let me just point out that trilogy means three, there are only TWO Hostel movies, FOUR Saw movies, SIX Chainsaw movies and NINE Halloween movies.

Anyway

Well I'm a fan of new AND old horror so...
For new I'd say Saw
For old I'd say Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Trilogy's have only 3 movies. Some of the one's you mentioned have more, and Hostel only has 2.

The Halloween trilogy (out of those given tho I prefer the Scream trilogy).

I think there are more than three of them, so I don't know if it qualifies as a trilogy, but I have to give it up to Halloween. I would definitely put the other three into the "torture porn" category, which is not my favorite. I guess I don't need to see EVERYTHING. It's not scary, it's just gross. I prefer a more intelligent horror movie, and Halloween is the "smartest" of those listed.

Even though the sequlas idealy were probably some the worst sequal ever made. TEXAS CHAINSAW! I just love Leather Face. Lastest two wee great though.

I don't like Hostel and Saw is a decent movie. But one of my favorites.

Instead, how about watching all of the first movies to each trilogy and skip all the sequels. (Hostel 1, Saw 1, TCM 1, Halloween 1,). If I had to pick though (the way you want) it would come down to Saw. However, Saw isn't scary. Its just distrubing. So my second choice would be Halloween. But let me say that half of the "Halloween" sequels SUCK!.

Wow, you have been scared via the 1st one? I propose, i will understand the others, because of fact it became extra approximately suspense than gore. The villian performed at the same time with your suggestions. It became excessive, and the Hostels lack plot and respectable appearing (aside from that dork lady!) yet besides, it quite is barely a action picture! Be a guy...

Hallowe'en but it's not a trilogy.
Hallowe'en 3 : Season of the Witch is an abberation within the series which continues with 4,5, H2O and the other cash-ins.
