Talk to your doc about it & he/she can recommend another form of bc for you. There are a lot to choose from & it may take a couple tries until you find one that agrees with you. It happend to me, I'm on the patch now which I'm not to crazy about but the side effects aren't as bad as some other ones I have been on. What are you taking?

Talk with your doctor or nurse practitioner or whoever put you on it.
BC pills are made up of hormones, and hormones can affect your emotions...
You dont want to be feeling like this...like some sort of sad PMS all the time....
There are different formulations of pills...they can try something else...
I used to work as nurse in family planning clinic, and believe me there are differences in the formulations of different pills...so call the office that you get your pills at, and go in before its time to start the next month and see if you can get a change...
best wishes!!

I'm assuming you're on the Pill. The Pill can have VERY intense effects on your mood, especially if you're prone to depression. I have been dealing with depression for years, and I can't be on the pill because it really screws me up. If you want to stay on the pill, try something with a lower dose of estrogen. If you're open to trying something else, try something like Depo Provera ('the shot') or the Patch, which won't make you feel as bad. Call your gyno or go to your local Planned Parenthood.

Talk to your doctor about it. Maybe there is another pill with a different balance of hormones that will help you more than your current prescription. I'm way more emotional on the pill, too, which I really don't like. Sometimes I feel like I'm bipolar, going from one extreme of complete elation for several days to a bad period of depression. I'm like you, though, I need to be on it for medical reasons.
If your doctor can't change you to another pill, is it possible to be on antidepressants, too? Good luck finding a balance!

The birth control pill is hormones, primarily estrogen, I think. Hormones affect your emotions just as surely as any psychoactive drug. It's the same thing that causes those ups and downs during the month.
As to what you should do, ask the doctor who prescribed it.

You have to let your doc know this. He will try a different one for you. You will not have this side effect with every pill you try so call and let your doc know. He is not a mind reader and has no clue you are having side effects if YOU don't call him and tell him.

its ok, mind over matter. if you really need birth control pills then don't think that you're taking them so you won't be reminded to be sad. you shouldn't be sad unless you use it for a medical reason. have fun!

if you are severly depressed , this pill is not for you. I would ask the doctor to try something new that you are covered for.
You should not be on a pill that is sucking the life out of you.....
