I went to a birthday dinner party recently, one of four women and three straight people of guests of 25. The rest were gay men. Not one told me that he was born that way.

Just wondering what you think.

They like to talk about their sexuality. I have a cousin who is a lesbian and whenever she gives a party, a lot of people talk about that. Maybe it is the wine.

How can one say that they were "born gay"? Children don't even think about sexuality until they are approaching their teen years and by then their perceptions are heavily influenced by people around them. The whole concept doesn't fit into Darwin's theory either

As far as I know, Donnie McClurkin doesn't believe that people CAN'T be homosexual but rather that people AREN'T BORN homosexual. He believes that homosexuality is wrong and that "God" can "deliver" people from homosexuality. While I don't agree that homosexuality is wrong, I do agree that people aren't born gay. People aren't born heterosexual either for that matter. Contrary to the opinions of others, there is no indisputable proof that sexuality is inborn. Even the gay and pro-gay press acknowledges this. Claiming that sexuality is inborn hurts the fight for homosexual rights more than it helps- Because it's such a weak argument. My humble opinion is that, rather than basing our stance on the born gay argument, our platform should be that we all should be afforded the right to the lifestyles of our choosing accompanied by equal respect and treatment regardless of our lifestyle choices.

Did you ask them if they were "born that way " ?

How many of the straight people told you that they were born straight ?

Most people don't go to parties and make a conversation of how they were born, or their sexuality.

Is there some point to your post ?

I have no clue who this McClirkin is, but I do not agree with him/her.

I didn't get that message from him, "...you can NOT be homosexual". Can you provide a link? I just want to be sure.

I thought he was saying that homosexuality, in his opinion, was a choice. Donnie McClurkin is a man who used to be gay, he said his homosexuality stemmed from sexual abuse when he was younger. He then later...found God in his life and felt it was wrong. He no longer considers himself gay. Whether he is still a homosexual or not, he believes it is a choice.

I don't understand why the homosexuals became so offended to his OPINION. He's a huMAN, he can think any way he damn pleases.

I don't know...I think McClurkin is still gay. Although he's supposed to be a preacher now.
