What political impact means to me personally is how much the political climate affects my attitudes and beliefs. I think the political climate has an effect on us all. It's unavoidable and is pretty much interchangeable with talking about how environment changes a person.
If most people are considered "moderate", then I see myself as "liberal" relative to them.

Political impact is the influence that an action has on the system as a whole, or on the resulution of a particular issue.

And it depends which values and "norms" you are comparing me to - if it is the "norms" as portrayed in the media, I am more conservative. If it is compared with the people in my community and those I work with, then I am in agreement with that norm.

I have been told numerously that I live in a dreamworld made up of patriotic values. I believe we have closed groups that only want and see the values they create in their own bubble. I believe in the President who ever that is, I believe we share a responsibility to care for our neighbor, this does not mean to "pay" for their care. Sometimes it means to roll up your sleeves and just physically help them with out asking anything in return.
