My brother was killed acouple of months ago, I would like a copy of the police report and would like to see the crime scene photos, is it possible to view these? I need to see them to put alot of things to rest. How do I go about this, would the detective secretary who did the case be able to help me?

Firstly, I'm so sorry your brother was killed-my condolences to you and your family.

I believe that once the case is solved/closed you can request copies from the jurisdiction that handled the case. You should contact the jurisdiction and speak to the detectives that handled the case to find out.

Do you really think you are ready to see the pictures? I don't know if that would be the best thing for you-those images may stay in your mind for a very long time and may hurt you even more....please re-think before making a final decision!

IF the photos are evidence then you will need to wait until the case is concluded. However, the defense attorney will be allowed copies of all records during discovery.

If you are contemplating a civil action then your attorney can file a motion for discovery after the conclusion of the criminal trial.

If you simply want them for 'personal' reasons, that decision, once the criminal trial is concluded, is up to the police department.

It probably depends on your state. My children were killed in Maryland, and I was able to get copies of the photos (at my expense)

you may need a court order
is it still under investigation then no
they can make them available in court and then public record and you can see them that way
