Of course you feel that way because it was the time you grew up in... I feel the same way about the 80's...

Well a lot of people feel the decade when they were about a teen was the best. I agree the 90s seemed to have a lot more to offer and was very interesting.
There is the every other decade rule, but it doesnt really pan out . The theory is every other decade rocks. 50s rocked for people then. 60s sucked 70s rocked 80s kinda sucked 90s rocked and now sucks..... But a lot about that doesnt pan out because the 80s had some good parts mainly bad parts was the bad music and movies...

I am continuously growing. Though 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and now. They all have something that stands out as the greatest ever.
Heard of
Robert Johnson?
The Beatles?
Bob Dylan?
The Who?
U2?
Red Hot Chili Peppers?
All of them have been quite awesome in providing ground breaking sound and a bit of IDENTITY to their respective eras. And they are just a few...
So many more people and groups out there now a days (uh-oh starting to show my age) though they are saturating the airwaves with non-stop music, from so many different genres, I can't think straight, doesn't necessarily mean they are all great. Only that you got to dig through more trash to get to the good stuff.
Through the advances in technology, movies (especially fantasies) are so much better since the special effects improve the illusion, Spider-man really does seem to be swinging through the streets of New York and we have no reason to believe that Obi-Wan kenobi did not fight Anakin Skywalker on a molten planet. As with music, the number of titles, fighting for our entertainment dollar don't necessarily mean the quality has increased (look at Battlefield Earth, if you don't believe me). If you take away the special effects, movies haven't really changed that much. The good ones are out there, if you look for them
To Kill A Mockingbird
Easy Rider
Taxi Driver
The Shining.
One thing I have noticed is that comics are really being accepted as an artform as relevant as other literary work.
Be proud of your era, but also remember that progress stands on the shoulders of the past.

I grew up in the 90s and I know how you feel. Sometimes when I see a 90' video or hear a song of that decade I get a warm feeling inside and remember how it used to be back then... I was so close to my cousins in the 90s but now it's like we don't even know each other. We're so different now... So anything that reminds me of the 90s also reminds me of my cousins and the great times we spent together... I really miss those times...

You're right. Music got going real nicely in the 90's. Of course there was great music before but we saw some real good stuff back then. Not only that but technology took a step forward, there was alot of cool stuff made in the late 90's. Movies were badass too! The Matrix came out! That film is hard beat in anyway, still one of my favourites! I was born in the 80's though. lol 89.
YAY for the 90's!

Bookish and EC both nailed it. You think the 90's were great because you were a happy kid then. I think the same thing of the '60's. Others will probably like their decade best, or a time period straddling a couple of decades. Perspective will make this more clear to you at some point.

You think that because that's when you were growing up and you have good memories of that time. I've lived through a lot more decades than you have, and to me, the 90s weren't that great. It's all about your own personal experiences and how old you were at that time.

Like others have already stated, there is a substantial bias factor associated with this "question" - which is more or less just your opinion.
I'm glad you liked the 90's. Good for you. Since we're going down that road, I like to break it down into years. 1996 was a good year. As was 2003.
DON'T U THINK SO? ;)

Each decade is unique and irreplaceable. I have lived through a few and I would not want any to change - For me it is only some of the incidents of violence or tragedy I would like to erase.

No, art, science, people, etc. were amazing in other decade as well. Just take a look at e.g. the 1920'ies, the 1930'ies and 1960'ies and you will see that they were worth while.
Now we have the chance of amazing discoveries both on this and other planets, one of them being ourselves.
