While the Celtics have improved their team, it's ridiculous to think that they've got any shot at an NBA championship. Garnett is an all-world player, and both Pierce and Allen can score.
However, to win championships, you need more than three players. Their starting point guard, Rondo, has never been a full-time player and hasn't looked that good in a time-sharing role. And Garnett better get plenty of boards because the Celtics' centers are not going to be a factor. Also, if any of those guys run into foul trouble or are out for a stretch of games, the Celts would be in huge trouble due to lack of depth. Can you name the backups for those guys? Tony Allen, James Posey, and Leon Powe? Are those guys you really think are going to provide the type of depth you need to win in this league.
The Celtics have three aging stars, and a weak supporting cast. To think they're going to contend for anything beyond an Atlantic Division title is pure folly, and even there they'll be hard-pressed to beat the Raptors. They'll have some great nights and be improved from last season, but they're a long way from contending.

I know a few new Englander's and I worry about the Boston ego if their teams win too many championships. I lived in NYC for a while, and they need to learn from the New Yorkers, who have great success, but are also modest. Their collective humility should qualify all NYC residents for sainthood.

What about Hockey you loser. The Bruin are going to win a big pile this year.
You're also forgetting to list BC who has a shot at the college title this year.
My recommendation: If you live in Boston, go sell your house and move to GFY.

celtics is the team to beat now but to be an NBA champ,possible but very tight road!i think they cant win this season,maybe next season!
