at first thought, people think its because we get older that time goes faster.
thats a convenient answer, but 24 hours to a 10 year old is 24 hours to a 40 year old man.

Consciousness of the passage of time is the basis of memory recall, but memory is of events, not time itself. Time itself is just an abstraction. Memorable events occur occur at a slower rate as we age; the "first times" are in the past. Time may fly when you're having fun, but memory of that fun takes up a disproportionate share of all we remember. Enjoy your youth if and while you still have it.

Time is calculated both absolutely and relatively.

So time might appear to be going faster because of the amount of things going on, keeping your brain from realizing how much time has been spent.

When you are not stimulated, the brain has more free capacity to focus on the time; think of the 'watched pot never boils' as well- for anticipation of an event with no other stumuli would make it appear to go slower.

People are pre-occupied into so many activities, that is why they think time is faster today. In the provinces, where people are just whiling their time away without doing or thinking anything, time is passing slower.
