If the Pats had begun kneeling when they were up 38 nothing, then the Skins came back to beat them, would the Pats whine about being disrespected with a late game comeback. Luckily we will never have to know because they never take their knee off the htroat of the opponent...

Not standing to lose is equal to inability to lose in this case. Or perhaps ineptitude on the side of opponents...

If you rely on sports stars for your childrens role models, perhaps you are to blame whining... I try to be for my own children. Only I can teach them whats best for them, not Tom Brady....

WHINE WHINE WHINE get a grip people just because the Patriots are the best thing since exlax everyone is going to shitt when they go undefeated this season. So stop whining and join the fun. We all know that the Patriots are a super team and if Tom Brady and the Patriots had not acquired the picks that they have now would they still be on top? You just have to admit they are HHHHOOOOOTTTT!!!!!

Your question is great and your additional details prove the point that their are a lot of whining babies here.
Noboldy remembers how the Bill came back from a 30+ point deficit to beat the Houston Oilers in the 1990's or that the Colts came back from a 21-2 half time deficit to beat the Patriots in last years AFC Championship game.
Play until the whistle blows.

Nobody is saying they should take a knee midway through the 4th quarter. But they also should not be in the shotgun throwing deep outs either. That's just uncalled for and will eventually cost them.
If your up by 38 points in the 4th you run the ball 3 times and punt or you run the ball 3 times until you score and no one would complain. But throwing deep outs in the 4th while holding a 38 point lead is plain and simple running up the score to make a point, what point, I am not sure.. Fans and media will point this out so expect more if they keep doing this, which I suspect they will until one of the starters gets hurt while they are trying to score late in a game leading by multiple scores..

I agree with you. I remember when Lou Holtz was coaching Nore Dame. They were up on a team 40-something to zero with about 3 minutes left in the game. They took 3 knees, then punted the ball. The announcers said it was a classy move.
I thought it was a bigger insult than moving the ball. It was like they were saying, "You're so sorry, I'll give you the ball back and you still can't score."
I love to play sports, but if I was ever losing to someone, and I sensed that they were not trying to do their best, I would be very angry. It's very surprising to me, to hear professional athletes complain about the Pats. No wonder they are losers. Where is their competitive drive?

If they stopped at 38 I really don't think the redskins were going to comeback. Belichek is pissed cuz he got caught cheating and now he is trying to stick it to everyone by saying I don't need to cheat to demoralize the rest of the league. To be fair it is a bit classless to run up the score but the redskins D had something to do with it too, they were the ones that let a backup QB run it in for a TD from the 10. That being said one of the LB's from the Pats did question the wisdom of running up the score. I'm not sure it's whinning as much as asking "is this really necessary?"

No player or coach for the Redskins whined about anything in this loss. In fact Gibbs and Greg Williams both said in post game interviews that if they didn't want the Pats to score they should have stopped them. The players in interviews said the same. The people whining are media and fans. I think the Pats play calling in the 4th showed their class to the league, but whining is stupid, stop them if you don't want them to score.

the pats didnt have to kneel. but they did average 4.3 yards per carry. they could have run it every play, still made first downs, and wound down the clock in a hurry. they called more pass plays than run plays in the fourth quarter, and that includes kneel downs as run plays

Agreed. These are professionals. If your team is so inferior to another as to get beaten by 40 points or more, then you probably need to take off the pads and look for a job selling car insurance or something.
Whining about it only makes them look even less competent than they are.

Come back and beat them? Are you nuts?
Look what the Colts did on Sunday! In the 4th quarter they put in their backups, and still won WITHOUT running up the score anymore, which they could have done.

Why should they stop scoring because they have a lot of points. This is not classeless, its football. i thought the point was to score a lot of points. If it was their team scored 52 points they would be happy and have nothing to say, but its not so they will just keep winning.
