I don't care for it. I think there should be a day in celebration of the Native American culture that was lost when the Europeans invaded.

I know this is a question to a question,,,but I have always wondered how in the world good ole Chris claims to have discovered land that all ready had people on it? In my opionion it should not be a holiday for he discovered not land,,but instead met a beautiful people!

I never heard that he killed Native Americans before. Where did you get that info? And He didn't know where he was. He thought he found a new route to India. That's why he called the people here Indians. But they also believed him and called themselves Indians for years and years until just recently. But they got even by teaching him how to smoke.

Not at all. Also, he didn't discover the Americas. There were african people already traveling to the Americas and they showed him how to get there. That was the biggest mistake b/c it lead to the killing of native americans and slavery.

I don't know why we even bother with it anymore, I doubt many people actually celebrate in any way or treat it as special.
