Me myself personally, you know what would mess his head up and leave him thinking......
Don't go get it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Leave it there and cut him at the knees and don't call or comment anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Because the same way you worked and got all that stuff you can get it again! evidently he needs it more then you do being as petty as he's being..... That would show you the bigger person and don't give him the satisfaction to see you sweat over materialistic stuff that you can always get again!!! Let him have it! Then don't call him anymore and then if he calls you be civil and don't talk about the items and cut him real short for conversation.......
Leave him thinking............
Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This situation a sensitive one?. Couple of scenarios It was him that broke it off, so what!, you have a male friend to lend a hand. Ring him and tell him you have found somewhere else to store it and arrange a suitable time. Only you know what type of nature and th reason he is not forcing you to remove it. So If only you , just turned up would he create a scene??, if not then enter Scenario 2. How about if he is going to be at his place when you go to collect the stuff. You get him to help load it up, then when you get home your friend can help you unload. No questions asked. He just thinks you are being independent. Keep the peace whatever you do. No body needs any extra drama in their lives. Of course if he doesn't budge on any of your offers, then go to the police ask if they can be visible during the time you get your belongings.:-)

Take the friend or it will be a scene. The friend will help your ex to feel uncomfortable confronting you.
Remember that you are away from him because of his abuse. You do not want to be alone with him. With comments like "keeping part of it as a 'storage fee' " there is no question that this is an abuser.
If you can take two friends that would be even better.
Take care,
Troy

I wouldn't worry about it. If you need the extra help, then bring your friend. If your ex wants to cause a scene, ignore him until everything is loaded.
Then tell him as you're getting ready to drive away that he's the one who left you so it shouldn't matter to him what guys you hang around.

you've broken up already whoever you take to get your stuff doesn't really concern him. beside you need "man" power to carry furnitures and lawn mower etc. if you're concern of him making a scene tell him before hand that you'll be getting your stuff with your guy friend.

It doesn't sound like a problem, but tell your ex ahead of time just to avoid any kind of confusion. You wouldn't want to drive 3 hrs, and then inform him for everything to be in a big ruckus. Not that you have to justify anything to him, but just tell him anyway.. he should know that you wouldn' tbe able to pick that stuff up yourself.

If you are completely honest with your friend about your ex and what he may do or say - and the friend still offers to go, I'd say definitely GO GET YOUR STUFF.
It's not right that an EX is still dictating your behavior. It's your stuff, stand up and be a woman and GO GET YOUR STUFF.

He doesn't sound too friendly. You'd have two male egos there. I'd check with the local police department and have a policeman there while I got my stuff or I'd write it off. Too many times situations like these have gotten people hurt

Call him first, and maybe take 2 friends, so if there is a scene, the extra person would keep him from getting personal. (maybe)
