We are having much needed rain in Florida. I've actually had a wonderful summer. The best in years due to very little hurricane activity. But now the rain and barometric pressure have finally got the better of me. I've been awake since 2 a.m. with a paralyzing back ache.

Yes, the weather does affect me very much as it does so many ppl, old and young. I have a problem with the area above my sinuses, E TUBE, and with the changing of weather, from hot to cold, cold to hot, dry to wet , wet to cry, heat to rain, rain to heat, any of it , any changes in the barometric pressure really affects me so easily, getting headaches, with each change. Also when you have arthritis, you really begin to see your gramma and grandpa didnt make it up when they told you about how they could tell what weather changes were coming due to their joints. Yes, its absolutely true. I can tell it will rain before the weatherman forcasts it. I could never live in Florida, for that reason. I live in Phoenix Az, but its not as dry as it used to be, or as free of polution, but its way dryer than Oregon, where we moved from.
But, there is still changing here, and the absolute incredible heat, of up to 121 in the summer, can affect you just as much.
When there is a monsoon coming, it hits me so hard, and I am down till it gets back to normal again.
All of us who always thought our grandparents or parents were making it up by saying this about the weather, get to a point that we realize they DID know what they were talking about. So will our kids and grandkids one day.
God bless you for the question. I do pray that your current bout with pain will end . God will take care of us always, just ask, it is temporary the feeling yukky.
God bless you. I pray you get a normal nights sleep tonight girl, and that you are pain free. Love ya in Jesus.

Southern Comfort, I'm sorry to read that you've been up most of the night with an achey back!

Every time the barometric pressure drops I have aches. My hands are usually the worst. I often use my mug of coffee or tea to warm my hands and loosen them up. My feet and knees also get stiff and ache. When the pressure drop is sudden and drastic, I have some other old, healed, fractures that ache-one in my right humerous (upper arm), a few ribs, and both of my clavicles (collar bones). Ibuprofen is my friend...;)

I agree with you that we Floridians have had a decent summer! I just hope we don't have tornados like we did last winter!

I recently discovered that even your arm pits can hurt. My landlord has evicted me for complaining that he had to turn up the heat, he has it set at 60 F during the night and 64F during the day, its cold and damp and most days i can hardly move.

And because I also asked him to speak to the downstairs tenant about her nocturnal activities, bringing home two or three men, screaming, shrieking, yipping, gasping, moaning, howling, she's is quite the actress --

She never sleeps apparently, this goes on until 3, 4 AM then starts again at 6AM and then at about 8 AM she does off to her "day job". She is mentally challenged and is often outside at 2 r 3 AM braying and barking as well --

He said she is a very quiet person, I must be making up stuff, I think he makes a booty call down there frequently as well, and that it would be better if I moved out if I cant get along with her --

So I am cranking that thermostat UP to 74F for the next couple of weeks, I have to be up and down to do that, because it resets itself - by frankly my dear, I dont give a damn.

I have been freezing to death, aching all over, not getting any sleep because of the madam living below me - and it I am being told to move out screw him/

I dont look forward to living in my car mind you - maybe my son will let me stay with him for awhile until I can get myself out of this country and back to China.

But yes the weather has really given me aches and pains, and the accident on Oct th has just made it that much worse.

I'm more accurate than the weatherman. I am greatly affected by humidity and I can predict snow within a few hours even when it isn't in the forecast. I have "snow headaches" and once the snow starts, I feel fine. Deep aching in the legs means rain. My back is not a predictor. It hurts all the time.

I get migraines when a 'low' pressure comes through and often when it rains. I think I'm starting to get arthritis and the damp makes it worse. I have thyroid disease so the cold gets to me in the winter, but the heat made me feel really bad this summer too. It seemed to bother my allergies. Hope your back feels better.

My right arm aches in cold weather because i got my arm caught in a machine at work and broke my wrist, the large bone in my forearm and tore my rotator cuff. I have titanium screws in my shoulder, a large metal plate in my forearm and 4 crushed bones were removed from my wrist. The cold really makes that arm hurt a lot. Ateast it's not cold in Georgia too long though.

Weather affects everybodys' body.
According to science of acupuncture there are five energies in our body - wind, heat, humidity, dryness and coldness.
In windy weather one can get all/some types of body movements affected; some get joint problems, some tendon problems, constipation etc.
In hot atmosphere you will suffer from h/a, boils, itching etc.
In rainy season you will suffer from dairrhoea and loss of appetite due to humidity.
In winter season cold atmosphere and the coldness energy of our body generate the joint pain problems as coldness generates pain.

Thus atmospheric energy and body energy combinely generate some symptoms.

Don't envy you the back ache. I have a leg that took a nasty cut when I was a teen -- that bad boy hurts like the devil in the rain or when a change is imminent.
