no one knows what happened to maddie and while i feel sorry, for the parents, with the tide of public opinion against them, i think it strange that they haven't publicly expressed regret for leaving her on her own, that night. i would never forgive myself, had i of done the same, and in there position i'd want to publicly express regret as a warning to other silly middle class parents, who might do the same

The words they used were "naive" when it first happenened but the damage has already been done so they can't go back and change the past and by god i bet they wish they could.I feel sorry for them as well but i think their reputations as doctors and as parents has come first the whole time and now they just want to forget about that tiny detail.Anybody who goes away on holiday and leaves their children now after what has happened are crazy and the Mc Canns wont be the first to do it and wont be the last unfortunately.

Difficult to tell these days who is middle class and who is working class. Many working class go on expensive holidays whilst middle class go to Portugal.
This has nothing to do with class. I live in Spain and I see Brits coming here and they drop their standards that they have at home. In other words, they leave their brains at Gatwick. Lets hope people will learn from this but I´m not very hopeful on that score.

They have publicly expressed regret & guilt about leaving their babies alone that night. They haven't forgiven themselves either. And i'm sure many other parents have learnt from this, while they've learnt it the hard way.

They have done so. But no one seems to want to hear.
