maybe every team wants him but there is an A-Rod curse very very evident now... any team he has played on has never even reached the WS let alone win one... his numbers in the playoffs, which includes his recent years, are horrid, especially when up to bat with runners in scoring position...
unless the Cubs get him for a bargain(which ain't happening with an agent like Boras)... please just let him go...
is he a HOFer? definitely yes... but is he a guy you want on your team for the playoffs? NO....
any team that pays him more than 20-25 mil a year is crazy and not seriously looking to win a WS...
he may eventually prove me wrong... who knows? but it's not likely...

I am SCARED right now that with a name like Rodriguez, the Mets' Omar Minaya will automatically jump at the chance to sign him. This is one of few teams that can afford him, and Minaya might feel a little desperation after last season's collapse.
Omar, we're not THAT desperate. I really do not want to see Alex Rodriguez in a Mets uniform, forcing David Wright or Jose Reyes into a different position. That current left side has a great attitude (until the Rickey Henderson experiment), and they also have much more palatable contracts.
Alex Rodriguez is a cancer and a curse. Look up how many World Series he has won. Then, look up how many World Series he has even participated in. That's right. The answer to both questions is ZERO. I love how Tim McCarver said that it would be a "death blow" to the Yankees if Boston signed him. Right, the same way it was a "death blow" to the Red Sox when the Yankees signed him. Nice job.
Classy move, making his announcement during the World Series. Can't stand the guy.

Heck, yeah. People like to whine about the money he makes, but look at the record he has. He's Hall of Fame ready NOW and he still has 10 years left in him. Take a look at the teams this year that didn't make the playoffs. Every single one of them could use Alex Rodriquez. Why he's hated for being the highest paid player is simply WAY over my head. I'd snap him up in a New York second.

It realy depends on how you look at it, he is arguably the best player in the MLB right now, if not the best hes near the very top. But I dont know if he is worth the Hundreds of Millions of dollars he wants for a couple of OK seasons with a few great seasons. If a team can afford him, he would be a great player to add to any roster no matter what anyone says.

Wait, so which you're telling me that Yankees this twelve months could have been extra useful devoid of him? he's the main reason they made the playoffs this twelve months. Say all you like approximately how lots he sucked interior the playoffs this twelve months (by using ways, so did Jeter, yet no person cares), yet whilst he's not on the group they do no longer even get the prospect to get kicked out interior the 1st around. the main situation with the Yankees is the pitching. Texas by no ability won with him because of the fact they paid too distinctly for him, and could no longer have the money for something of the group (in assessment to the Yanks, who can). Seattle did no longer make the playoffs with him, yet bear in mind additionally that Randy Johnson and Ken Griffey performed with A-Rod in Seattle. in straightforward terms whilst Seattle had dumped all 3 did they have that ridiculous 116 win season. in short, if a set that may not be able to truly have the money for him (like Texas could no longer), then definite, he will decrease that group's probabilities of winning. There are some communities, regardless of if, that he could help--specifically, persons which could nevertheless have the money for to place a stable group around him.

Phillies fan here. I would love to have that bat in the lineup and the Phils do need a third baseman, but they need pitching as well. With the money it would take to get A-Rod, there would be nothing left over to try to get any quality pitchers.

If he really had the nerve to say he would opt out of his contract because he didn't think the Yankees could win anymore then he deserves to be kicked to the curb.
As if he has so many championship rings he can't bear to not win anymore! He is totally classless.

Anyone who says they wouldn't want him on their team is lieing to be honest with you. Some Red Sox fans say they don't need him. How many of the Sox players are free agents & won't be on team next year? Most teams would want him but most couldn't afford him.

Being a Milwaukee Brewer fan I certainly don't want him .
He'll demand and probably get a salary larger than our entire team . Let some owner with deep pockets trying to buy a title take him . He's not wanted here . I heard the Cubs may want him . I hope he goes there . ( suckers )

Not me. He is good, that is obvious, but he is also a prima donna that messes with the chemistry of a team.
