No, I had not heard that. I'll alway remember him for his version of the Green Green Grass of Home and his TV show back in the 60's. One of my favorite moments on the show was when Dolly Parton was on there doing a commercial for Duz detergent. They would put a free towel in the box of detergent to help sell it. I remember how Dolly held up one of the towels and said "Porter, LOOK at THESE!" and the look on Porter's face was priceless.

Of course she meant the nice floral pattern on the towel.
But Porter, and I'm sure most of the males in the audience, were probably snickering about the other items Ms. Parton always had on display with her tight dresses.

God bless Porter, may he rest in peace.

Oh, I'm sure many people will mourn his passing.

I'm sure he left with a Satisfied Mind

"When life has ended my time has run out
My friends and my loved ones I'll leave there's no doubt
But there's one thing for certain when it comes my time
I'll leave this old world with a satisfied mind"

One of the greats is singing praises to Jesus in heaven! Saw him and Bonnie Guitar a few years ago at Willet Hall in Portsmouth, Va. Had a chance to speak to him and Bonnie. He was so gracious, even though I could tell he was tired.
Did you know that Dolly Parton wrote I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU for Porter Wagoner when she left his show in 1974? True.

They say it's "in 3's".
Recently lost Debra Kerr and Joey Bishop.

Now, Heaven's got three new angels!
