You don't start with an agent. You start with training and gaining experience in theatre. You need classes in acting, dance and voice lessons. Once you've had a good amount of training and you build up a good resume, you need to add more in the way of student and indie film roles.

Once you really have a good resume, that's when you can seek out agency representation.

Get the training first and start in the theatre locally. Then find more auditions from backstage.com and actorsaccess.com. If they don't have much for you check out your state's film alliances and commissions by doing a websearch for your Michigan film. Those sites should have info on local auditions and possibly classes.

Legit agents can be found through Unions like SAG.org and AFTRA.org. RossReports has more comprehensive info but you have to pay. You can also get a better 'in' with an agent with an industry referral so network with people you meet in class and working on projects.

good luck,
Marianne

No, you are not ready for an agent. Just keep acting in every opportunity at school, church or in the community. Take a professional class now and then. See where it leads you.
