The original with Henry Fonda and Lucille Ball is better than the remake with Dennis Quaid. Some movies should just never be remade, at least when there are still people around that are familiar with the original. Another remake gone south is "South Pacific" with Glenn Close. If you saw the original with Mitz Gaynor, the Glenn Close version is horrible. A great movie site to check out movies and is www.imdb.com.

It was really, really bad. I have nothing against family comedies, but thats as effortless and stupid as it gets. Its corny, unfunny and as for the slapstick moments, well, let's just say you'll be the one hitting yourself for watching it. The actors' reactions are totally science fiction. The bonding sequences where the two families realize they love each other is so cheesy, that...how do I describe it? You know how you're watching a predictable/cheesy/clichéd movie and you get that really uncomfortable feeling? Like you're sitting next to a sweatly, fat bald guy? You get the EXACT FEELING! A pooper scooper picked up the worst child actors of our time one day and dumped them into MGM Studios.

the original? Henry Fonda and Lucille Ball or thr remake with Dennis Quiad and Rene Russo?
both are good!! the original seems better though!
it's like the father of bride with Spencer Tracy or Steve Martin the newer seems more funny! cause of charaters like (Martin Short!)

i watched both older and newer version, i don't know if the review were very negative but this movie was quite entertaining. even i guess cheaper by dozen got its inspiration from the older version (starring lucile ball).
If u really want to watch this movie, then go for it! it's likely that you'll never regret anyway..
