First, I am a Yankees fan. I had been an A-Rod fan. But this shenanigan displayed an utter lack of decency.
I'd like to blame it on the influence of his agent, Scott Boras -- but then again, it's unforgivable for A-Rod to even associate with people who conduct themselves this way. And Boras certainly didn't prevent him from showing up to accept the Hank Aaron Award.
So yeah, A-Rod is a no-class act. I will miss his pretty blue eyes and his colossal contributions on the field -- but nothing else.
(For runner-up in the classless move of the weekend contest, I nominate the New England Patriots, for running the score up to 52-7 against pitiful little Washington.)

Oh, yeah, I'm SURE Alex Rodriguez thought to himself: Hey, if I opt out then they'll pay more attention to me than to the World Series!
C'mon. Use a little bit of the sense that god gave to soft shell suitcases. Could he possibly have orchestrated this? Are you nuts?
And as for being all about the money, I guess you people here tithe and have 1/2 your pay cheques going to charity. The man has already taken in enough money to buy a new Lambourgini every day for 30 years. He plays for fans who boo him when he has a better year than 95% of most Hall of Famers but an off year for him, he plays for a boss who doesn't know a baseball bat from a squirt gun, and he wants to be appreciated.
Yeah. No class guy. Just like you lot.

Him and his agent Agent Scott Boras wanted attention and they did it like two over paid cry babies...Alex Rodriguez couldn't be at the World Series to receive an award from Hank Aaron -- a family commitment was the stated reason -- but he managed to upstage Game 4, writes Buster Olney.
The Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Angels and even the New York Mets could be possible destinations for Rodriguez. Teams have declined to comment, citing tampering rules that prevent them from discussing players who aren't free agents.
Who cares I would LMFAO IF THE YANKEES WON THE WORLD SERIES NEXT YEAR AND A-ROD IS WATCHING IT ON TV.....OH THAT WOULD BE SWEET!!!!

It was a gutless and classless act to try and up stage the World Series of all things!! A-Rod is all about A-Rod. The Yankees will be better off without him. They can use the money and get the pitching that they so desperately need. All A-Rod is, is a "gun for hire". A mercenary in a baseball uniform. The hell with him.
All this proves to me is that he doesn't have the guts to try and win in New York. It can't take the pressure of the Big Apple.
There is an old Sicilian saying about personal relationships, "You have a choice, you are either my friend or my enemy. There is no in between". A-Rod is the enemy. Sadly he was never a friend after all.

A-Rod has again proven what it is all about to him: The Money.
Never will he leave a legacy of how truly talented he is as a player.
Unlike some of the greats from the past:
Babe Ruth- Yankees
Hank Aaron- Braves
Mickey Mantle- Yankees
Ted Williams- Red Sox
Roberto Clemente- Pirates
A-Rod will enter into the Hall of Fame with a dollar sign as his logo on his cap. And not a logo that means anything to the real fans of baseball.
So sad for him, enjoy your money Alex- that truly is what it is all about to you, isn't it?

Truly, didn't bother me. Fox bothered me when we missed Lugo's great catch for the most part as they didn't split screen during their interview with Tito in the dugout.
Though I am not a fan of A-Rod because of his at times dirty play in the past, I don't understand why people hate him and criticize anything attached to him. Seems silly.

He will go where there is another $250 million.
They probably planned it all along with FOX. You have to have drama and BREAKING NEWS to get the marketing you need as a network and as a free agent.
Boras Borat is brilliant!!!!!!
