With your period being 8 days late, your chances are very good that a home pregnancy test will be accurate.
Ultrasounds can be done very early, even as soon as 6-7 weeks so I see no barriers to you being able to schedule one within the next week or so (assuming you are pregnant).
All the best to you!

First of all, good luck for tomorrow - it does sound promising! As you are 8 days late, the HCG that the HPT detects will definately show up. As you have had a previous miscarriage, you will probably be monitored a bit more closely and may be offered a scan at about 7-8 weeks to check everything is OK.
As you are young and healthy, there is no reason why miscarriage should happen again! x

Hello, baby dust to you! Most HPTs are already able to be over 95% accurate at the time that you miss your period, so if you are 8 days over I'd say it should show up positive (given that it's used properly and working properly!)
Generally your first ultrasound is not until 12 weeks, but your doctor may offer you an earlier scan (e.g. 6 to 10 weeks) to put your mind at ease. Generally these are transvaginal rather than trans-abdominal ultrasounds as these provide a better picture. Make an appointment with your doctor as soon as possible to discuss this (and to confirm a hopefully postive HPT!)

I really hope you are!! If you are you can have a scan at 6 weeks, i had a m/c too in June at 6 weeks and im going to go to a private clinic (bupa) to get a scan at 6 weeks as they use 3d scanning which is 100 times better, why dont you think about that too??
Hopefully the test will be positive if not go to the docs and let them do a blood test, good luck and i really hope you have good news xx

Be patient but not slow. Don't try to be very quick as that takes more time. And make sure that you don't make silly mistakes, specially in your calculations. Leave those sums which you find difficult for later. Be cool and confident. That's what I tell myself. Best of Luck. I have EVE tomorrow, and that's easy!!! In ICSE, there is not much time available. Only 2 1/2 hours, and one starts running out of time sometimes and hence makes silly mistakes. There isn't much time to lose. Edit: For now, go and practice maths, and after one hour, come back and click on the button just below my answer. That reads " Chose this answer as the Best Answer". Then I am sure you'll do good.

I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks pregnant, only because i was unsure of my due dates, im sure you could go and tell your situation and get an ultrasound done even if it is just to put your mind at rest, if you think there is anything wrong you should go and get checked out its better to be safe than sorry and im sure they wont mind checking you out if you are worried, good luck with the test i hope it all goes well and everythings ok...

Sorry to hear about your first pregnancy!
Sounds to me like you might be pregnant. When taking the test, and you are pregnant, you will be able to see a positive sign already!
If the test shows that you are pregnant, then you are able to see your Doc and request for an ultrasound already, it's not too early........However, it might be to early to detect whether your baby might be out of danger or not, deff at a later stage!
Good luck with the test and everything else!

It should pick it up, how soon did you get a positive in your last pregnancy?
If you go to your doctor and say you think you might be pregnant, he should do a preg test or blood test for you because of your medical past. If hes nice enough he might even said you for a early scan!
Good luck hunny x

If you are 8 days late, chances are good that you'd test positive. But it wouldn't be unheard of to NOT test positive 8 days late if you are pregnant. Just retest in another couple of days if it's negative and your period doesn't come. Or go to the clinic for a blood test.
Good luck!

Tomorrow is fine to test. should be accurately positive at this point! And a scan any earlier than 8wks usually doesn't show a heartbeat so don't be disappointed if that happens. Wait until then to scan and you should be okay.
Best of luck!!
