This is probably a more unusual answer, but I'd have to say Memory from the musical CATS. To me, the expression of someone who once had a wonderful life but is now old, miserable, and not accepted by anyone is very emotional to me. That song often brings me to tears, but only if the person singing actually puts emotion into it. (Elaine Paige does the best job of this; I don't care what people say, Betty Buckley does not do Memory any justice...)

For me this is the most saddest emotional song ever...To love someone knowing you will never be together.
The movie and song is about 3 friends...only the one singing is madly in love with the girl but has a heart problem and not very long to live...he has to watch her marry their best friend...very good movie...try and watch with subtitles

Bluer than blue, by Barry Manilow. Here's some of the lyrics:

After you go
I can catch upon my reading
after you go
I'll have a lot more time for sleeping
and when you're gone
it looks like things are going to be a lot easier
life will be a breeze you know
I really should be glad
but I'm bluer than blue
sadder than sad
you're the only life this empty room has ever had
life without is going to be
bluer than blue

All out of love, by Air Supply

I'm lying alone with my head on the phone
Thinking of you till it hurts
I know you hurt too but what else can we do
Tormented and torn apart

I wish I could carry your smile in my heart
For times when my life seems so low
It would make me believe what tomorrow could bring
When today doesnt really know, doesnt really know

(chorus)
Im all out of love, Im so lost without you
I know you were right, believing for so long
Im all out of love, what am I without you
I cant be too late to say I was so wrong

I want you to come back and carry me home
Away from these long, lonely nights
Im reaching for you, are you feeling it too?
Does the feeling seem oh, so right?

And what would you say if I called on you now
And said that I cant hold on?
Theres no easy way, it gets harder each day
Please love me or Ill be gone, Ill be gone

(chorus)
Ooh, what are you thinking of
What are you thinking of
What are you thinking of
What are you thinking of
(repeat chorus)

The saddest one for me is " Every time we say good bye I die a little" sung by Ella Fitzgerald. I used to play it when my wife went home abroad every year to take the children to see her parents, I couldn't afford to go as well and worked through my holiday so they could go.
