It's wonderful! ;) Great history and meaning, and with the recent film based on the legend, I doubt there'd be much confusion as to spelling or pronunciation even in mainstream society.

I actually prefer it as a first name, but only because it can tend to sound a bit like a phrase when in the middle name position. Not an issue in front, however. Just a lovely, underused choice all around. :)

In short, I love it!

I love this name! Isolde would stand out in a sea of Isabellas. I like the Iseult spelling better, but I think that could cause problems in spelling and pronounciation.

The Tristan and Isolde myth is sad, but way better than Romeo and Juliet, as far as I'm concerned.

Love, love, love it!

Far better than the overdone Isabel and company.

And it isn't like the name doesn't have history - hello, there's a Wagner opera called Tristan and Isolde, based on the Arthurian legend.

Anyone with anything resembling an education will find this name interesting and familiar - a tough combination to find.

Please don't name your little one Madison Isolde or Emma Isolde ... what a waste of a fabulous name!

Abigail Isolde
Isolde Siobhan (Pronouce Shove-On)
Gabriella Isolde
Katrina Isolde
Bethany Isolde
Isolde Bethany

I hope these help!! :)

I love that name. I am a huge fan of the older style names! Just remember though, people are going to come up with ways to shorten her name... ie. Izzy. Make sure that you like the nickname as well.

For a middle name it might be nice. But not a lot of first names would go with it.

I·seult (-slt) KEY also I·sol·de (-sld, -zl-) KEY
