Yes, but there are some counties in Europe, where you still had better to bring with you an international driving license.

I think you can drive anywhere with the new style driving liscence, the one with your picture on it! I only needed to show that part when I hired a car in Slovenia. I think the new(ish) ones, are good for anywhere!!
