a lot of girls pack on weight really fast. It's also a huge dose that has to last for 3 months. Personally, i don't like it, and my GP suggested that I stay clear of it. You also need to remember to have the injection every 3 months... not something you want to forget about!

Personally, I prefer the norplant, or implanon. no weight gain, fully reversable (within 24 hours of removal) and it's good for 3 years. A particular bonus for me was the fact that I didn't get a period for almost a full year, then nothing for another 6-8 months. It wasn't until the final year that my periods started returning.

don't forget, it's only pregnancy it will protect you from... make sure you still use condoms!

Presume you are talking about Depo Provera? There is a worry that it may lead to bone thinning because it suppresses oestregen. But oestregen causes all kinds of problems like cancers of the breast and uterus, so do we need all that hormone? Eat a diet rich in dairy, take a calcium supplement and make sure you keep physically active and you should be ok. I have been on Depo for 10 years and my last bone scan was totally fine. The advantage is that it generally stops your periods! Halleluja. Get your life back honey and go for it!!!!

I personally use ortho tri cycling. I think it works wonders. The patch and ring causes too much clotting of your blood. Not good. Haven't heard too much on the IDU. the shot is too much of a hassel every 3 months to have. Plus it causes an excessive weight gain. Try the pill first.

Yes, it will effect your sex drive. Plus, once it's injected into you, you are stuck with it in your system for the three months, so if you do have any ill effects, you cannot stop it. I have the implant in my arm, it's low oestrogen so doesn't cause many side effects, it lasts for three years and if you don't agree with it, you can have it taken out. And it's pain free to have put in. Email me if you have any questions about it.

The negatives FAR outweigh the positives.

The ONLY good things about the depo shot are once every three months and you might not ever get a period.

The negatives are too many to mention and they happen to so many women that I'm shocked its still being administered to women.

Check out the reviews here http://www.rateitall.com/t-330-birth-control-methods.aspx
and google "depo provera lawsuit".
