by type do you mean name? Like Internet Explorer or Firefox ???
Open your browser and look at the title bar for the name of the browser. Click on Help then on About...

the term "home browser type" means "what program are you using to access the web?"
So, look at the top of the page of the window you are using to read yahoo answers. Does it say Mozilla, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, Opera, or some other name (after the title of this question and the words yahoo answers)?
If so, that's what type of browser you are using.

Open up the browser that you usually use. Look at the top menu and try to look under "Help". You should be able to see what is the type.
