I can bear with this his talking no problems but i know many people can't and won't. Sometimes, he talks just day today stuff just the way as if others have no knowledge and the only person with the wisdom is him. he'll be my friend forever no matter what but i feel helpless when i try to figure out a way to let him see this behaviour.

I was in the same situation with my friend. I asked her if she wanted feedback on why people didn't seem to want to be around her much. Only after she said "yes" did I offer my advice. I complimented her on the good points of her personality so I wouldn't make her feel bad about herself. I also let her know that she was a good friend and that I valued her friendship but I was only telling her these things because I want her to be happier. She took it very well and made some good improvements. That's what I suggest you do with your friend. Good luck!

If you guys are REAL friends you should be able to sit him down and actually talk to him about this stuff. You need to tell him that you love him to death (as a friend) but you think he should know that when he talks down to people- he makes them feel like an idiot and than they tune him out. People won't listen once the feel insulted and that may play on your friends feelings. But, if he is like any other man, he will ignore what you say and tell you "I don't care what other people think". SOOO- good luck!

Just tell him that, as his good friend, you have a little piece of advice for him. Tell him that if he really wants people to listen to him, that he should not talk so much, and not talk to other people as if they are stupid. Tell him that you do not want to hurt his feelings, but as your good friend, you feel that he needs to know.
