If they have been around for millions of years, why have they not established themselves as top species. The simple fact is they scavenge of others, like parasites. So they have no need to evolve into super beings!.
Rats likewise scavenge off the hard earned proceeds of others. They both might survive a nuclear attack but so too did many Japanese, and the area around Chernobyl continues to thrive!. If all trace of humans disappeared tomorrow so to will most of the rats and cockroaches because we are their main supplier at the moment.

100king...I'll deduct 100 from you and leave the the king...and add MYTH. The Q has not intelligent basis....I advise you to do more research and analytic. Next time, if you got subject of same nature, better categorize it as Riddle or myth.

Take over would mean to put under control? Don't really make sense. Is there any research you do stating that roaches has brain of like the capacity of men or even a computerized programmed like men robot?

I advise you to change interest on more intelligent reading materials...that will give you working wisdom...do you know what book is that...I return to you that answer to your Q? If you got it right in 3 minutes, then you are just joking with your Q, but in 5 minutes you still can't figure it out...only God know what interest you most...but roaches is less appealing to bright men!
