Fate And Destiny Difference

2016-11-06 21:26:49 · answer #2 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

As per English Dictionary Fate means........An event (or a course of events) that will inevitably happen in the future. Destiny means...An event (or a course of events) that will inevitably happen in the future. So these are two different words having same meanings. So far as the concept of fate or destiny is concerned it is illogical and thus wrong. How can we be punished here or in the life hereafter for any of our wrong doings if it has already been decided by God how the events will happen? Why should I be hanged for the murder of a human when it is already decided that I will murder him and I can't change God's will. Why should I exert if it has been decided that I shall get this and shall not get that? In fact we are sent here with the capabilities and freedom of choice to do good as well as bad. We are told what is right and wrong. We are also told what God wants from us. Thus it a test we are sent here to take. The test is whether we use our capabilities according to or against the will of God. As every test is followed by a result so we shall be rewarded for our doings. This is what we are created for.

Both terms are acknowledgement of man`s inability to comprehend many things. However , in useage over a long period of time , I feel fate would relate to an individual`s plight whereas destiny would relate to a larger entity. Further fate is more 'fatal' or severe and destiny is a much milder. may be fate is more related to 'illluck' and destiny to 'unlucky'.

Destiny is something big.Such as Luke Skywalker's destiny was to confront his father and the Emperor,he defeated the Emperor and saved his father. Fate is rather small (sorta), for instants if you didn't study for an important test, you'd be fated to fail that test. Or one could also say that it was fate that caused you and your spouse/significant other to meet. Does this help?

First let me tell you the dictionary definitions

Fate: The will or principle or determining cause by which things in general are believed to come to be as they are or events to happen as they do;
An inevitable and often adverse outcome, condition, or end

Destiny: a predetermined course of events often held to be an irresistible power or agency.

Apparenty both of them mean the same. ie. happenings on which we don't have control. But there is a derogatory sense applied to Fate, whereas Destiny is used in a neuter sense.

Fate is what happens to you and out of your control, while destiny is what results from your actions.
For instance you study hard at music and dancing so you're destined to be a great performer.
Or... You are average at music and dancing but fate ensures you will end up in the entertainment industry - perhaps not onstage or onscreen but in other creative ways.

"Man, Master of His Destiny," O. M. Aivanhov, and "Climb the Highest Mountain," Mark Prophet, deal with this.

Fate is what one is locked into; destiny is what one develops by elective choice.

There is perhaps a continuum between the pole of fate and the pole of destiny. By proper use of right choice, one increases one's ability to choose and shape one's destiny, hence, even reducing one's fate in some ways.

Even prophetic dreams can assist one to change: e.g., "Watch Your Dreams," Ann Ree Colton, and "Extraordinary Knowing," Elizabeth Mayer, Ph.D.

Certain careful experiments by Dr. William Tiller, "Psychoenergetic Science," http://www.tiller.org and other information at http://www.divinecosmos.com indicate the nuances and degrees along the fate-destiny polarity.

Good question. Can't think of a REAL difference, although destiny always seems to sound more pleasant, fate sounds like something awful....Will watch other answers with interest.

Hell, there are many differences... fate starts with letter f and destiny starts with letter d, etc....
LOL! jokee... sorry, can't help to joke.
anyway, fate is something that happened that's like an accident but it's actually meant to happen 'coz it will affect your life EXTREMELY while destiny is something that you are meant to be or do. I think. But I believe in neither of them...That's all I know...
