Human nature is like instinct. Like its natural for dogs to howl when hearing other dogs howl. Its their nature. Its human nature to want to be loved because its how we all have thrived for so long.

It is the exact opposite of the nature of animals. For example only humans are cruel on purpose. What an animal does to survive is what God and Nature has decreed. But humans can decide if he/she will put themselves first before the well-being of another. Animals can and do put their human's life first or that of their offspring's but only humans can let another have their last drink of water.

There is nothing real about human nature. The whole thing is unreal.
Is it loving? yes and no. Is it cruel? yes and no.
Natuaral is the adjective form of nature. If you want to find out what is human nature, you need to think what is natural to human beings.
Let us take the help of Socrates.
Bin Laden is human, (is he?) what is natural to him? Gandhiji was human, what is natural to him? Mother Theresa was human (super human?). What is natural to her? You are supposed to be a human being. What is natural to you? Hitler and Mussolini were (??) human. What is natural to them? Jesus christ was human, what was natural to him?
So is there is something commonly natural to Human? I doubt!!

It is our base desires and our unselfish love.
We have to try to rise above our base desires like murder, rape, adultery, stealing, sexual immorality, cruelty, and a selfishness in revelling in our base desires. Then there is the natural love that we have for one another.
For those in pain we feel empathy, for those who deserve it we give our sympathy and the poor we reach out to for no other reason then "we can" so we do. It is in our nature to die so that our children will live. We have a natural tendency to forgive, and to give.
Human Nature has an evil aspect that we can beat back, and a good aspect that we can cultivate. It all depends on the individual human being on where he or she travels through their lives.

The nature of humans is that we are the "rational animals." We may not always act that way, but every species has its exceptions.
