online i love it! but, in person it's another thing. if they overly use those terms during that first meeting it annoys me. but, it's ok in moderation.

Good question! I have to admit I call women honey, or sweet heart a lot. Yet all my friends say I sound like a grandfather when I do it, I'm 28! I don't know why I do, guess I should try to stop. I never mean any disrespect by it. =)

Just met? NO. It shows disrespect on their part. A gentleman always treats a lady... like a LADY, and not some slutt he just met in a bar.... even if that's exactly what happened.
Those terms are strictly reserved for more intimate relationships, and respectfully spoken to the lady.
Everyone is entitled to my opinion.

Well if you're in the Southern region of the US, it is kind of common, but if I'm in the north, no, he'd better know me really well.
Personally I only feel comfortable with my husband using those endearments. Otherwise they just become forms of throw away language.

Its all depend on the guy.
If he want make me fool by calling me like that and abuse me not I hate it but in general I like it especially when my specialy guy call me.
Look at my nickname I even call myself baby.LOL

no...... makes me boil from the inside. if i just met the guy i'l tell him 2 stop, & that i consider it an insult. only men who r allowed 2 call me that are my dad & my boyfriend/husband.
