It actually depends. I like 'Your Answer was chosen as best answer' when it is a great question and has some good comments of the Asker. On the other hand, 'you have received a message from another user' has some kind of mystery, some kind of suspense, if you know what I mean...but, that is only at first when you don't who sent the message or why...So, I guess that if the message is not something special, I prefer 'Your Answer was chosen as best answer'.

message from another user. there are some strange people out there (yes, even on P&S, lol) and some exciting emails. those are usually more fun than best answer, although i like getting them as well. but if i can only choose one, message.

I do have a bit of anxiety whenever I get another message from another user...scared some crazy person is going to cuss me out again...so I always think to myself, "Who'd I piss off this time?"
