I'm left handed myself, which is why I'm asking. plus most people I know are right handed (except my half-brother).

I'm not so sure they are rare. I'm one. well actually I'm ambidextrous. But I can tell the time better with a left handed watch or clock an do alot of things backwards IE sewing. It's got something to do with how your brains wired up. You can buy loads of things for left handed people of the Internet - scissors ,clocks,watches etc. My husband is left handed and so was my son. But it's difficult when you go out for a meal and you sit by someone who's right handed - you keep bumping elbows.

I'm left handed as well. It seems to me that I don't see a lot of lefties. I work with the public and when a lefty spots me writing, they make a comment, as if they were excited to see a fellow lefty. I find that a lot of the people who are commenting are older people, which makes me wonder if it has to do with how seniors were forced to write with their right hands in school (at least, this happened to my grand father).
Either way, I now find myself wanting to say something when I see someone who is left-handed.

Righty, my brothers(who are both left handed) tried to make me a lefty, but it wasn't successful. I've heard left handed ppl die earlier than right handed ppl do, they have a short life span. Also, i know most talented and famous ppl are mostly left handed.

It is more common to be right handed! I am right handed, but my husband and son are left handed and my daughter is right handed!!!
