There are any number of software programs that will do this, some will even send an alert notice to the employer when you log onto a restricted site.

Since you are using their computer, they can monitor it all they want. That includes your private, intimate E-mails to your wife and girlfriend, tracking your illegal, off-shore, bank accounts, and even your question on Yahoo Answers.

Yes this is legal. Employers have a right to control what happens on their computers. Especially since they do not want to be held responsible if an employee decides to, for example, download porn at work.

There is monitoring software and yes. A general manager at a lumber yard was terminated for surfing the web and veiwing porn from his company's computer. He lost his $100+k job.

yes to both questions, your there to work not to chat with freinds play games or check out porn or anything else, even on your own time as you could eaisly go to a site that could cause the co problems in the future,,,,,wanna go on line, do it at home at your own expense, not your employers, if you dont have a computer at home tough titty said the lil kitty when the tit went dry, buy your own computer,,

Yes. You're using their computers and their software to browse the Internet over their connection. So yes...it is legal for them to monitor what you do online and, if neccesary, reprimand/fire you for your activities online.

it is LEGAL for an employer to monitor whet you do and what sites you log on to at their workplace--it is THEIR COMPUTER, THEIR INTERNET ACCOUNT, and the most important thing: they are PAYING you to do their work and not go to porn or other non work related sites.
