I doubt the sun will go supernova, or if a comet large enough comes around to obliterate earth, or any other earth destroying force will happen in my lifetime.
As far as the end of the human race, I doubt this as well, but anything is possible. Something catastrophic will probably happen, but not big enough to wipe out all human life.

I think that several things much worse than 9/11 will probably happen in my lifetime. It won't mean the end of the world, though. Not even close. You need to put things in perspective.

Well, if Emperor Bush plays rogue cowboy again and bombs Iran, it's curtains for the U.S. -- Russia and/or China would lob nuclear bombs at us to FINALLY stop that insane demon in the White House.
I only hope I'm standing at Ground Zero when it happens.
