hmm..yeah I agree the US is the most conservative in the Western world (not including LAtin America). Outside of the US, what would the answer be?

To the person that asked I am referring to the modern term "liberal" whether that is positive or negative to you.

The United States... No European country has the death penalty, and they all allow gay marriage, the same goes for Canada. The US has lower taxes than any other industrial nation (with one or two exceptions), and the least developed welfare state.

Depends on wether you're talking about Classical Liberalism like our Founding Fathers visioned or socialist neo-libism, like the America-haters of today.

America is definately the most classicaly liberal in terms of personal freedoms and opportunity.

Cuba or N. Korea is more to the neo-libs likings.
