I have a friend who can't find any happiness in her family life. Everything's so empty for her at home and she's both mentally and physically sick. I want to help her, but I'm no good advice-giver. Does anyone know what I should say to her?

everyone's family lives suck in some area. i promise. mine is definitely NOT the greatest. The very best thing your friend can do for herself, is to think positively. help motivate her to come up with reminders of ways to alwys be thinkin happy. for me, i put an elastic on my hand. if i say something rude, or sass or backtalk or put down any of my family members, it just makes things worse. so i think ahead, and think to see if it's worth a welt to say or think that stuff. Even by pretending to be in a good mood, it affects those around you. becoming a happy positive person really makes a big difference in the way family members treat each other.
your friend can't wait for someone else in her family to make the change and fix what's going on. She has to.
you can help by being a happy friend. encourage her to be happy. never be negative or be like 'oh that sucks' because it will encourage her to think of eveything bad thats going on. get her mind off that iind of stuff. if she brings it up alot, just do something to change the conversation, or if it's a certain family member bothering her, invite them to go to a movie with you two or something. include her family in your activities (to the best of what you could.) Families tend to act better towards each other with guests around.

that's all I can think of. Hope it helps!

your not a good adviser but you can tell her that life is beautiful. though she's mentally and physically ill, you two can do things to make each other happy and don't feel empty inside....

The best thing you can do is be there to listen to her. Family's can be pretty mean when they want too. I know, I'm always having problems with my family. I have my mum, dad, step-mother and a step-father. Just listen to her and let her get it off her chest whatever she has to say. All my best

I would reassure that you care about her, that you are worried about her .I would talk to her about councling, but at the same time let your friend know that you will be there to help and support her.I would also try to do something fun with her.Remember people who are down sometimes just need reassurance love and good friends.

Ask her how she truly feels, try to understand her. And don't tell her the words "I know how you feel." Just tell her to be positive and ask how you can help her get through this. Thoughts become Things.

DONT LISTEN TO THAT OTHER GIRL!!!

Anyways a friend can be a life saver, just tell her you want to know whats bothering her, and that you want to help and she what she says.
