Yeah, i just saw transformers.

So could this someday be a possibility?! I mean just 50 years ago we didnt even have computers capable of what they are capable of doing today. Can you imagine 200, 300, 1000 years from now and if we actually do survive to that point, would we have been able to integrate DNA and machines? Just wondering what the perspective on this is

I don't really believe that aliens have come to earth, but some claim dna was left here on earth preprogrammed to evolve into humans, to help carry on some distance aliens race here on earth.

we might not even have evolved to the desired form yet.

dna is good at organic building, not with non organic material.

creating an organic computer (with DNA) would effectively create a nice brain that could be integrated into a machine body for maximum effect

right now we can legally create our own living being, unique to our design (say a self cleaning bactiria) from engineered dna and its not considered a life, its more a tool or machine.
and companies can own patents for them too...... THEY OWN A LIFE / machine?

right now we do integrate DNA and machines in the form of prosthetics

some alien encounter theorists suggest that if we encounter evidence of intelligence, it will most likely be a form of post-biological robot.

biological beings are so much more fragile and wont necessarly find areas suitable for living forever. self-replicating robots built by a species of long-since extinct intelligent life- sounds crazy but if you look at statistically whats most likely to be found, alien robots is most likely. the idea that distance is so vast in the universe, the only 'thing' able to travel any meaningful distance would be an intelligent robot. it would be impossible to remotly control said robot from more than a few million miles away. if we tried to control a robot from the nearest star, it would take 4.6 years to tell the robot to turn left. also, the time it would take to send biological beings to distant starsystems is at present, measured in generations (meaning you will send people whos grandkids, grandkids will be the ones who reach the starsystem.) also if you add in the part about being self-replicating, robots could theoretically populate our entire galaxy in a 'fairly' short amount of time, maybe a few hundred million years. transformers are already out there man, there busy mining asteroids for raw materials to turn into more robots!
