I was a huge Letterman fan back in the day, the first 5 years or so. I watch Leno now by default- and only about once a week after ER! Conan has grown on me, but I still think he is a goof and not as funny as he could be.
Carson was the best! Before him was Jack Paar but I only remember a little from that era!

Conan and Dave because they are really out of the ordinary. Dave has cooled down a bit in the past few years. I have never liked Jay Leno.

Of those three I think Dave is the best but...I really like Craig Fergeson. He's really cool and pretty funny. Plus the accent always adds a touch of exotic.

This may or may not qualify, but I prefer Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart's late night shows on Comedy Central.
