First of all, I'm not familiar with the specific models you mentioned, but here's my take on the brands.

Korg's are usually superb, but that's odd that the model in question only has a sustain pedal.

Williams is a good brand, but I'd choose a Korg over it any day.

However, have you looked at any Yamaha's. They generally cost less than Korg's but can be every bit as good -- in the mid and upper price ranges.

Also, I'm a big fan of Consumer Reports, which does unbiased tests of a wide variety of things. I don't know if they've ever done testing of pianos, whether digital or acoustic.

You might also try connecting with other musicians to garner their input. There are tons of Yahoo Groups devoted to music, and probably at least one or two focus on users of digital pianos.

Finally, you should make every effort to actually play your target models before buying. If your town doesn't have a sizable dealership, invest a small amount of money and do a day trip to the nearest major city.

Good luck!

I'm not familiar with either model, but if the SP-250 sounds anything like the piano sound on a Korg Triton, steer clear of it. For the price range you seem to be targeting, you may want to also check out the Kawai MP4. I've tried one of those, and if I had the cash, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Confused,
What does each piano weigh? The better piano looks to be the Williams, because of the ability to modulate your music. But if you have to carry around a very heavy piano, your back might think differently about it. Find that out, and what you have to pay for each of them. Does the Williams have a way to carry it around, like a special, wheeled, case? That would help your decision, too.

Some other questions are:
sound qualities
equipment (like a computer's peripherals) that it works best with, adding to the cost

Firstly you must decide how many pedals you really want or deed. Then how portable you really want it to be. I suggest you also sit down and play them - the korg and the williams. Make a lot of nice plincety plonk sounds and decide which one really sounds nice. Then look at you overall rating, based on these three variables (pedals, portability and sound) and decide whether you really want to pay for either of them. If you are still unsure, then either do not buy one (if in doubt do without!) or buy them both, in case one should break.

It matters not what piano you select, so long as it has STEINWAY on it's shell.
