Yes indeed, babies encounter dreams while sleeping. We became aware of the fact after observing babies go through REM sleep mode. REM stands for rapid eye movement; adults go through REM’s sleep modes but not as often as babies do. If you happen to watch your baby’s eyes move fast and constantly, it means he/she is going through REM’s sleep mode which is mostly related to dreaming, and there we understood that baby’s dreams are existing facts. Now in regards to what they dream, it is not known yet due to lack of communication with babies at that age, and their brains incapability to reserve memory for a long enough period. However, what we know about REM dreams, is if the person’s eyes are moving to the sides then their dreams are occurring in the horizontal form, such as moving in an open surrounding or space. If their eyes are moving in line up and down, then their dream is in a vertical mode, such as climbing or observing high shapes.

when he smiles, maybe he has gas.

babies will dream of whatever they have experienced.

Maybe they dream of being breast-fed. Maybe they dream of being with their mommy, or their daddy.

On the other hand they may have a bad dream, like being separated from their mom or dad. Maybe they dream of a dirty, itchy, uncomfortable diaper, or restrictive and uncomfortable clothing.

I have no proof, but hey, how you gonna prove what a 6 month is dreaming? I am sure they aren't dreaming of angels like your first answerer suggests. I would sooner believe they were dreaming about their favorite toy.

If a dog and cat can dream, so can a 6 month old child.

I believe they dream of the things they experience in their lives, just as all people do.

In a 6 month olds experience, boobs, Mom & Dad, cuddles, favourite toys, family pets, siblings, music, trees, walks, bath time, play... would likely dominate their dreams.

LOL, I also have a concept for my son. certainly one of my older boys tried to play peek-a-boo with him and scared him. This became appropriate till now mattress. He went to sleep and for a pair nights might awaken like he have been scared conscious. He became high-quality after a pair nights. yet I had made my older son play with him and cuddle him. I figured possibly he might desire to replace that frightening memory, lol. i don't be conscious of if that became what became taking place, even though it worked, lol!

I think they dream of eating, pooping, and all of the silly faces we make at them. That's all they know.

How do we know? they can't tell us.
Maybe they assimilate their activities for the day into their subconsciousness.
