Forgiveness. Take it from me, revenge takes far too much energy, and makes you no better than the person who hurt you. The old adage is true: Two wrongs don't make a right.

If someone insults or slights or otherwise acts adversely -- and does so intentionally -- I merely pity them for being such a petty person. Scheming to "give them a dose of their own medicine" screws up your karma and doesn't really alleviate the pain you suffered.

However, all of this does not mean I am opposed to confrontation. I have a co-worker who is one of the most negative people I know, and she is used to getting her own way and talking down to people. I pretty much have a teflon-coated back so insults and belittlements don't ruffle my feathers, but when I recently discovered that she was telling lies about people [including myself] behind people's backs, I collected facts, confirmed with others the lies that had been spread, and then I and one other surprised her at a full staff meeting by suddenly addressing the situation and "calling her on the carpet." Her eyes got wide as saucers and she stammered and tried to "explain," but we countered every claim with facts. The Executive Director, who had been unaware of her negative actions, convened a meeting afterward to discuss what had been going on, and he ended up disciplining her. All through this, I and the others remained calm and non-vindictive. Since then, the woman has technically cleaned up her act, but her dirty looks at some of us are priceless.

I can never get revenge on someone....
No matter what happens, I always forgive....
But that doesn't mean that the people I hurt always forgive me....

Forgiving is done with an open hand.

"revenge is better served cold" wait to do someting.... sometimes its sweet just watching them sweat as to weather or not your gonna do something
its harder then anything to forgive..... sure it might depend of what was done ,time actually takes care of that and lessons the feeling of severity of it...
